Hannah Ostrander, CNHP, BCNWP

OWNER, CEO, & DIRECTING Practitioner

Hannah is a native of Lees Summit, MO. She attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music and Dance for Dance Performance (Ballet emphasis) and Choreographic Design. Hannah also received professional training from the Kansas City Ballet School and Kansas City Youth Ballet prior to dancing in college.

After her college education, Hannah transitioned into Human Resources. She climbed through the ranks at the corporate level into management roles, overseeing multiple regions and hundreds of employees.

Hannah is the daughter of Dr. Craig Ostrander, DO MBA of Lees Summit, MO, CEO and Managing Physician of Summit Family Care and Summit Laser Surgery. Growing up, Hannah was deeply inspired by him as she watched him excel through medical school, residency, and eventually going on to own his first practice, Summit Family Care, one of the first direct primary care practices in the Kansas City metro area.

It was this model of healthcare that inspired Hannah to transition from HR into family medicine. She began her training by working under the direction of Dr. Ostrander for Summit Family Care performing nursing duties and primarily collaborating with him to start up his second practice, Summit Laser Surgery. She currently manages the clinic and operates as the lead laser technician, performing medical aesthetic procedures, including tattoo and sunspot removal. Also with Summit Laser Surgery, she manages the skin cancer screening program using the latest technologies to find skin cancer and acting as an educator on skin type, proper skin care, and how to mitigate the risk of skin cancer.

In her day-to-day patient interactions, Hannah became increasingly aware of the opioid epidemic facing our society. This crisis motivated her to seek out alternative means of treating pain, depression, anxiety, and a gamut of other issues. In her research, she found natural medicine/naturopathy.

Hannah continued her education with Trinity School of Natural Health to study naturopathic medicine, graduating as a Certified Natural Health Professional. She then became a Board-Certified Natural Wellness Practitioner through the American Association of Natural Wellness Practitioners.

Upon graduation, she opened her own private practice, Natural Family Healthcare, LLC, specializing in family care and chronic condition coaching. She sub-specializes in a broad range of specialized phytotherapies (the use of plants or herbs to manage health conditions) and aromatherapies (the use of essential oils derived from plants to manage health conditions) and frequently recommends them as medicine.

Because of her training in natural health, Hannah is highly experienced in preventive and alternative approaches that are non-invasive and often derived from that which comes directly from nature. She is also very passionate about women’s health and is a strong advocate for acupuncture and apitherapy (the medicinal and/or therapeutic use of all that honeybees have to offer, including but not limited to raw honey, pollen, propolis, royal jelly, bee venom, and beeswax). Hannah is also a registered member of the American Apitherapy Society.

Additionally, Hannah is certified in Healthcare Provider CPR/Automated External Defibrillator for Adults, Children, and Infants, First Aid, and Basic Life Support through the American Health Care Academy.

Hannah believes that knowledge is power, and her goal is to educate her patients on how to make healthy choices and properly care for their health, while feeling empowered to do so.
